Five Fabulous Festivals Celebrate Each Season at Dollywood

Just as every season in the Great Smoky Mountains displays unique, beautiful and fascinating characteristics, each season at Dollywood presents a totally different and exciting experience for guests. In 2014, Dollywood welcomes five festivals, each with its own distinct atmosphere, which offer guests a multitude of experiences they’ll find nowhere else. Free international stage productions and concerts by bluegrass and Southern gospel favorites, the six-time winner for Best Christmas Event, as well as extended operating hours and a nightly fireworks show in the summer, combine with the park’s more than 40 rides and attractions to provide something for everyone. Following a 2013 season that brought accolades for Best Shows, Best Food, Friendliest Park, and Best Christmas Event for Smoky Mountain Christmas, Dollywood’s five fun-filled festivals are sure to please in 2014.


Dollywood’s Festival of Nations presented by Humana—March 22-April 21, 2014

The world awaits at Dollywood with traditional music, dance, food and art presented during this multi-cultural celebration overflowing with the pageantry of visiting international performers. Mother Africa and La Danza De Colombia headline Festival of Nations’ stellar lineup which also includes Russia’s Moscow Nights trio, Zebra Stelzentheater’s German stilt dancers, various roaming musicians and much more.  Authentic international cuisine by way of the World Passport to Food and the daily One World Celebration along the park’s Showstreet area guarantee a feast for the senses as Dollywood provides guests an entertainment-filled escape to another world in the heart of the Smokies.


Dollywood’s Barbeque & Bluegrass—May 24-June 8, 2014

Dollywood’s Barbeque & Bluegrass launches the unofficial start of summer on Memorial Day weekend with a one-two punch featuring the tastiest barbeque in the South and the biggest names in bluegrass.  Free daily concerts by The Time Jumpers featuring Vince Gill (May 24 & 25), The Bankester Family (May 24-26), Riders in the Sky (May 26-27), The Boxcars with J.D. Crowe (May 27-29) and many more highlight this annual tradition. Pounds of saucy pulled pork, barbequed chicken and ribs by the slab, all served fresh from the smoker, abound during this family-favorite event that is music to the ears… and the taste buds.


Dollywood’s Great American Summer—June 14-Aug. 4, 2014

After a popular 2013 debut, Great American Summer gives families even more time to enjoy the great fun of Dollywood after dark. This All-American celebration is extended by a week to allow more opportunities to enjoy extended park hours, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, as well as unique rides like FireChaser Express and Wild Eagle all day and into the night! Dolly’s Nights of Many Colors, a colorful nightly fireworks display synchronized to music, features Paint Your Dreams across the Sky, a musical crescendo written specifically for the occasion by Dolly Parton. GACTV and Dollywood team to present country music’s biggest hits in The Great American Country Show, a 40-minute show performed by six singers and a six-piece band, as well as a special appearance by one of country music’s popular performers.


Dollywood’s Harvest Festival featuring the National Southern Gospel Celebration presented by Humana—Sept. 22-Nov. 1, 2014

Perhaps no time in the Great Smoky Mountains is more beautiful than fall and to capitalize on the festive splendor of the season, Dollywood’s Harvest Festival featuring the National Southern Gospel Celebration is extended, giving guests more time to enjoy the park decked out in its finest autumn attire. With a lineup that includes some of the biggest names in Southern gospel music, the soul-stirring sounds ring through the crisp air as free daily concerts take place on the park’s various stages. Visiting artisans from across the country share their talents through an array of handmade wares, spanning from functional to decorative. Each day is a picture-perfect opportunity to enjoy the traditional experiences of a Smoky Mountain harvest!


Smoky Mountain Christmas presented by Humana—Nov. 8, 2014-Jan. 3, 2015

A six-time winner of America’s Best Christmas Event, Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas features four million holiday lights and spectacular holiday performances, including Dollywood’s A Christmas Carol, which features a hologram version of Dolly Parton as the Ghost of Christmas Past. More than 20 of Dollywood’s signature rides and attractions operate in a festive environment designed to get everyone into the spirit of the season. From the award-winning shows and elaborate holiday decorations to the twinkling lights and Christmas-themed menus, Dollywood captures the essence of a Smoky Mountain Christmas.
