Daring Dogs Headline Dollywood’s KidsFest June 22-July 29
PIGEON FORGE, Tenn.—Beware of the daring dogs at Dollywood’s KidsFest this summer as Chris Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience headlines with a cast of captivating canines in a show sure to entertain the entire family.
The monthlong event, the largest kids’ festival in the South, continues through July 29.
Chris Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience puts man's best friend center stage in DP’s Celebrity Theatre. The fast-paced show features a variety of hair-raising, spine-tingling, and thrilling stunts as dogs defy gravity. The cast of 15 consists entirely of rescue dogs, immediately endearing the furry cast to audiences. Perondi and his canine crew have entertained audiences across the country in addition to major network television, commercials and talk show appearances.
According to the Humane Society of the United States, there are approximately 78.2 million owned dogs in the country today. In light of the growing number of dog owners, in addition to entertaining, Chris Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience also promotes pet adoption, spaying and neutering, and encourages people to spend more time with their pets, a mission adopted by Perondi in 1999.
“Like so many folks, I’m just a huge dog lover,” Dolly Parton said. “I truly believe they are man—and woman’s—best friends, and I couldn’t be happier about giving families a show that’s goes ‘dog wild’ at my KidsFest celebration this summer at Dollywood. Our four-legged friends are going to put smiles on everybody’s faces and warm some hearts, too.”
KidsFest also marks the return of The Gazillion Bubbles Show, an unbelievable display of bubble magic that has amazed audiences the world over. Millions of bubbles of all shapes and sizes fill the stage along with colorful lasers, spectacular lighting effects, and jaw-dropping masterpieces of mind-boggling bubble artistry. The Gazillion Bubbles Show extravaganza has been seen on every major television network and several cable news shows. It is performed in Dollywood’s Showstreet Palace Theatre.
Both shows are performed six days a week with multiple performances each day. All shows are included with park admission.
Dolly’s Imagination Playhouse features the Penguin Players in three children’s classics that come to life on stage through song and story. The lineup includes The Little Engine That Could, Ladybug Girl and the Bug Squad and Otis. The Little Engine That Could features a determined train. Ladybug Girl is Lulu, a little girl who loves to dress up in her ladybug costume and pretend she’s a superhero. Otis is a special tractor who lives on a tiny farm in America’s heartland and spreads a universal message that a true friend is a true friend. Dolly stars in each show, making a special appearance via the magic screen performing songs she wrote especially for the productions.
Character breakfasts are offered each day at Aunt Granny’s restaurant. Dollywood’s own Baxter the Bear and Trapper, Patches the Scarecrow and Penny, and Cas and Walker the Blue Tick Hound characters join Spot, Peter Rabbit, and George Brown each day from 8:30 to 11a.m. Seating is first-come, first-served. The all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet is $9.99 for adults; $6.99 for children ages 4-11.
Dollywood’s newest attraction, Wild Eagle, along with more than 40 rides and attractions are part of the award-winning theme park located in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains.
