PIGEON FORGE, Tenn.—With the announcement of Dollywood theme park’s new Wild Eagle steel wing coaster on Sept. 4, Amanda Taylor is already on the roller coaster ride of a lifetime.
Taylor of Sevierville, Tenn., was randomly selected as the prize winner in a text

messaging campaign for those who submitted the correct name of Dollywood’s Wild Eagle coaster, set to open in March 2012 for the park’s 27th season.

Taylor, 32, her husband Reggie, 32, and their four children Hunter, 9, Maranda, 7, Briella, 3, and Bentley, 1, won lifetime passes to Dollywood. Taylor and her family will attend Dollywood’s grand opening on March 24, 2012, where they will not only meet entertainment legend Dolly Parton but those who meet the coaster’s minimum height requirement will be first to ride Wild Eagle.

“I’m still in England on my Better Day World Tour but I just got the great news about the Taylor family winning lifetime passes to Dollywood in our Wild Eagle texting contest,” Parton said. “I can’t wait to meet them and present this incredible prize and then watch them soar on my new Wild Eagle coaster. From what I hear, they’re every bit as excited as I am—and they should be!”

“I’ve never won anything in my whole life, and I wasn’t sure if they were serious but my family and I are so happy,” Taylor, a stay-at-home mom, said upon receiving the news. Taylor and her family watched the announcement on WBIR-Channel 10 following Sunday evening church services.

Lifetime passes were offered to the winner and up to seven additional family members

residing at the same address as the winner.
Dollywood’s historic announcement took place at Knoxville’s annual Boomsday

Festival, the country’s largest Labor Day fireworks display attended by more than 400,000 people. In a videotaped message, Parton confirmed the name of the ride and invited everyone to text the correct name to 87654 to qualify for the contest.
