PIGEON FORGE, Tenn.—Dollywood’s Splash Country and Dollywood will host Live Positively: An Eco-Awareness Fair featuring the Coca-Cola® Recycling Education Vehicle on July 16 and 17, respectively, along with local organizations devoted to increasing environmental awareness and initiatives

Through interaction with the onsite staff, the goal is to show individuals how their personal efforts to recycle can have a greater impact in their own communities. Live Positively: An Eco- Awareness Fair is included with park admission.

During park operating hours, booths will be hosted by the American Eagle Foundation, Great Smoky Mountains Association, Sevier Solid Waste, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Sevier County Electric System, Tennessee Valley Authority, SP Recycling, Keep Tennessee Beautiful, and Tennessee Recycling Coalition.

Event participant Keep Sevier Beautiful will host the authors of Retrieving with Evie, a book about an environmentally-conscious Labrador who picks up litter. Evie, the book’s namesake, also will be on hand for the event, and children can pose for photographs with the dog.

The onsite staff will help increase recycling awareness by engaging park guests in recycling trivia and games as well as educational videos. Participants will receive participant cards which can be validated at each booth and redeemed for “green” prizes.

The Recycling Education Vehicle’s visit to the Dollywood parks is just one stop on a multi-city tour that reaches across the U.S. and Canada.

The Dollywood parks’ efforts to reduce waste and energy use also include recycling corrugated cardboard and replacing incandescent light bulbs with more efficient compact fluorescent and LED
