Description

Note:  All shoes must be closed-toe and secure at the heel.
(Flip-flops and slides may not be worn.  Closed-toe shoes are available
for use for Guests wearing flip-flops or similar footwear.)

Minimum height requirement:  42 inches; under 48 inches must be accompanied by someone 16 or older

Set the course for adventure at Dollywood’s new Adventure Mountain.  Explore and uncover an endless combination of high-energy feats to engage and entice the entire family!  This multi-level area covers approximately two acres and requires varying levels of skill and ability.  Four courses invite adventurers to navigate more than 100 challenging obstacles! The excitement of the great outdoors is just waiting to be discovered by those who accept the challenge of Dollywood’s new Adventure Mountain.

Special Safety Restrictions:  During our Harvest Celebration and Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival, Adventure Mountain will close at dusk.

Courses:

  • Geyser Gorge—Blaze new trails as you conquer your fears, crossing a geyser-studded course that warms your anticipation and ignites the drive to meet the challenges that await you!
  • Black Bear Cliff—Brace yourself for an edgy adventure! The narrow rock ledge that rims Black Bear Cliff has tempted many an adventurer, but only the boldest have ever dared to challenge the perilous, narrow edge!
  • Rocky Top Trail—A spectacular view awaits atop Adventure Mountain for those who dare to challenge the dauntingly thin aerial rope bridges snaking their way high in the sky at nearly 90 feet above Wilderness Pass.
Facts:
  • Two acres of mountainside terrain
  • Four different adventure courses ranging from easy to expert
  • Based on the course, adventurers are engaged in activity from 15 minutes to as much as one hour
  • Each adventure is different, based on the chosen path which determines the level of ability or the extent of the challenge
  • More than 100 challenging rope features
  • Adventure trails that range from a few inches above ground to more than 26 feet in the air
  • Minimum height requirement of 42”; under 48” must be accompanied by someone 16 or older
  • Adventurers traverse obstacles including swinging beams, suspension bridges, flying islands, and a tire traverse
  • Maximum weight limit of 300 pounds

I personally think that Dollywood made a great choice with this attraction. Everyone of all ages will enjoy it. It is really a one of a kind attraction, being the fact that Dollywood is the only park in the world to offer multiple Zip lines and Adventure Mountain takes everything to the next level. More >>

"A very awesome ropes course"

The best part about this ropes course is that you can't fall off of it.  I went on all three of the main tracks.  The hardest part is this one with one rope that goes across for your feet, and then two ropes that cross each other for your hands. More >>

Like another reviewer has noted, you can't fall, but you can choose the difficulty of the courses.  Luckily, there's always a solid catwalk you can take if you don't want to tackle the ropes, but as you work through the trails, you begin building confidence. More >>
