Reflecting on last year– wow, what a season. I spent a lot of time around Dollywood Parks & Resorts soaking up every festival, taking 15-minute breaks to “let the cinnamon bread digest,” and floating one too many laps in the lazy river. OK, maybe two or three too many laps. I was blessed to visit Dollywood properties with both friends and family and captured many fun memories through photos. Thankfully, so many of the wonderful guests who visited in 2022 take better photos than I do, and I’m happy to show those off instead. Here’s a look at just a few of our favorite photos around Dollywood, Dollywood’s Splash Country and Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa.
What’s better than one butterfly? THREE butterflies. Nothing makes you feel like a butterfly quite like these painted butterflies that make for a perfect photo op.
This picture equates cuteness overload. Seriously! Between the cow and bird friends on the shirt and the four front teeth demanding center stage in this giant smile, my heart is literally melting.
Black Bear Trail presents a perfect opportunity to share some happy memories with your smaller adventurers. What better evidence than this? Just look at those three smiles: Big adventurer, small adventurer and our black bear.
Umbrella Sky is such a beautiful part of Dollywood's Flower & Food Festival presented by Covenant Health. The bright colors are a perfect match for all of the flowerful (it’s not a real world, but go with it!) Mosaiculture displays around the park. Visiting the festival is made even better with a friend.
I know a laugh full of joy when I see one. And that, my friends, is a laugh full of joy – sponsored by a sunny day at Dollywood’s Splash Country.
Did I mention how photogenic of a background Umbrella Sky is? It’s photogenic on its own, but only a subject with this much STYLE can really take a photo to the next level. The patterned dress. The cowgirl boots. The flower-shaped sunglasses. This is what owning the spotlight looks like!
I feel like this photo needs a cartoon speech bubble that says “AHHHHHH!” Not only is this an impressive sleight against physics, it’s a great demonstration of how a photo can radiate so much emotion. Lumberjacks, take notice!
If you stopped to ask yourself “Is that a matching hat and bathing suit?” then allow me to be the first to tell you: YES! You might’ve known that Little Creek Falls was a great place to cool off in the summer, but now you know it’s also a great place to show off your Splash Country style.
Walking under Kite Sky during Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration is an opportunity for reflection – or, at the very least, an opportunity to catch some shade.
Who said Splash Country is the only place to cool down during the summer? Stop by the garden hose fountain on your way through Market Square and you’ll have a chance to cool down AND add some color to your journey.
The fountain at the DreamMore Spa and Resort sets the stage for you to pose like a star on your visit, and we’ve got one here. The striped-look is a perfect match for the colorful butterfly and guitar display, all topped off with a big smile suited for a star.
It’s hard to make a foam party look even more fun, but this photo does.
Don’t be scared of this zombie pose – he’s just hungry for some cinnamon bread! I mean, I get it. You can work up quite the appetite when you visit during Dollywood’s Harvest Festival presented by Humana featuring Great Pumpkin LumiNights presented by Covenant Health.
This put a little “Aww” in my heart. The butterflies are a perfect complement for the beautiful fall colors around the Smokies and Dollywood during Harvest Festival!
What sweeter way to send us off into the 2023 season than with a kiss? See you soon, folks!
