With the I Will Always Love You Celebration happening at Dollywood, we have had the fun opportunity to give our guests access to amazing artists unlike anything we’ve offered before. This celebration focuses on the art of storytelling and songwriting. One element our guests have been loving is our Celebrity Concert Series.
Last week, we got to sit down with Grammy nominee Jo Dee Messina to ask her a few questions about her songwriting and the inspiration behind some of her favorite songs. Have you ever heard of the chart-topping hits, “Heads Carolina, Tails California” or “Bye Bye?” She has some great music!
During these concerts, the artists have been sharing stories behind the music they produce. When we asked Messina how to make a song last through generations, she said, “It really is the songwriter that creates that melody, the lyrics and that relatability.”
Messina hopes that her legacy through music reflects not her ability, but the realness of Christ.
