Social Story

When we get to Dollywood, we will stop the car at the toll booth to pay the person for parking. I will be quiet in the car while mom and/or dad pay.

We will stand in line to ride the tram to the front entrance. It may be loud with lots of people riding. I will listen to the tram driver talking through a microphone about all the fun things to do at Dollywood.

I will stand still and wait in line quietly behind the fence until the tram stops and the tram driver tells me it is safe to get on the tram.

When we get to the Dollywood front entrance, I will stand in line. I will stand still and wait in line quietly until it is my turn.

Two people will be at the ticket window to help my family and me. I will stand still and wait in line quietly while mom and/or dad get our tickets.

We will stand in line to have my stroller and bag checked by the person in a dark blue uniform. I will stand still and wait in line quietly with mom and/or dad.

We will stand in line to walk through the turnstile with spinning silver bars that I get to push. I will stand still and wait in line quietly until it is my turn.

Now we are ready to go!

I will hear music and sounds all day today. One of those sounds will be the Dollywood Express-it is a really big train. It can be very loud and might surprise me. I will see different rides and shows. There will be lots of people around me. If I start not to like it, I will tell my mom or dad.

Next stop is the measuring station, so I know how tall I am to ride the rides. A person will help me stand tall and straight with my back against the measuring stand.

Then I will get a wristband on my wrist to show the person at the ride I am tall enough to ride. I will stand still and wait in line quietly until it is my turn.

If mom and dad need a stroller…I will stand still and wait in line quietly until it is my turn.

Next stop is the Ride Center, where I can get a card that helps me to get to the rides easier. I will stand still and wait in line quietly until it is my turn.

If I get lost, I need to look for a Dollywood person with a nametag that has a butterfly on it. I will stand still and wait with the Dollywood person until they find my mom and/or dad.

Now I’m off to start my day!

If I don’t want to be around people or sounds, I will tell mom and/or dad. I will let my mom and/or dad know I need to rest.
