Top 5 Summer Celebration Activities for Children

It’s summer at Dollywood, and the Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration is packed with family-friendly fun! If you are traveling to the park with children, be sure to check out these five summer attractions before the festival ends on August 6.

1. Gazillion Bubble Show

The Gazillion Bubble Show is back this year and is a definite summer favorite! With lasers, lights, music and more bubbles than you can imagine, this show delights children (and adults) of all ages. You can find the Gazillion Bubble Show in DP’s Celebrity Theater, but note that the show does not take place on Mondays.

2. The Imagination Playhouse at Heartsong Theater

We all know Dolly loves promoting literacy, and some of her favorite books come to life this summer in The Imagination Playhouse at Heartsong Theater. You can choose from Violet the Pilot, Coat of Many Colors and The Little Engine that Could, or even arrange your day to catch all three! 3. Bubble Foam Zone

There’s no better way to cool off that with a trip to the Bubble Foam Zone! Located in The Plaza at Wilderness Pass, kids and adults can spend some time dancing and having fun in a giant bubble foam pit. This activity is sure to bring many smiles, but warning—you will get wet! If your child is not a fan of wet clothes, bring a dry outfit to change into after your foam zone fun.

4. Hydro Jive Junction and Liquid Beats

These two pop-up shows are so fun and kid-friendly that it’s impossible to pick just one!

Hydro Jive Junction takes place in front of the Pines Theater and features music, dancing and a spraying fire hydrant. Be sure to stick around for the end when audience members get a chance to join the fun.

Liquid Beats happens in Market Square with the most creative drumming you’ve ever seen. Using pipes, buckets and more, these talented percussionists bring even more summer fun to the park!

5. Sweet Summer Nights

End your day with a dance party, drones and fireworks at Sweet Summer Nights in Wildwood Grove. Weather permitting, this show is sure to amaze the whole family and serves as the perfect close to your Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration day.
