It’s easy to celebrate Dolly Parton as a singer/songwriter, entertainer and philanthropist any day of the year. But if you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, plan to visit Dollywood before April 8 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of one of Dolly’s most beloved hits, “I Will Always Love You.”
From now until April 8, this festive celebration kicks off Dollywood’s 2023 season by commemorating the art of songwriting and the stories behind the songs. Gorgeous planted florals and a new welcome sign greet guests, stunning new installations are available for unique photo opportunities, scrumptious treats are guaranteed to satisfy and the new azure blue and blush pink décor hints of Dolly throughout the park.
When visiting Dollywood during opening weekend, I was absolutely captivated by the most incredible new installation: the pink celebration sky! As early spring winds rolled through the air, the pink shimmery strands delighted and amazed park guests. Be sure to grab a photograph under this whimsical sky before it is replaced by umbrellas for the Flower & Food Festival.
“I Will Always Love You” is arguably one of Dolly’s most recognizable songs. In the spirit of celebrating Dolly as one of the great songwriters, guests at Dollywood will feel the love as they enjoy their favorite Dollywood entertainment acts (Wild Roots, Harmonies of the Heart and Love Always) incorporate more of the singer/songwriter genre as well as some of Dolly’s favorite songs.
On each Saturday of the celebration, guests can enjoy celebrity concerts in the park. On March 11, guests were delighted by Natalie Grant; upcoming concerts include Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder; Jo Dee Messina; Larry, Steve and Rudy: The Gatlin Brothers; and Lauren Alaina.
Now, if you know me, you know I love to shop at Dollywood! For a very limited time, guests can purchase a wide variety of 50th anniversary “I Will Always Love You” merchandise in the park! Absolutely iconic sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, mugs and so much more are available while supplies last. Make sure to take a peek in Craftsman’s Valley while visiting; there are many songwriter-inspired crafts certain to delight and inspire!
Every operating day at Dollywood is sure to delight, amaze, entertain and create forever memories, but there's only one 50th anniversary of “I Will Always Love You.” Make plans to visit Dollywood before April 8 to enjoy this celebration of singers, songwriters, fresh treats and the Smoky Mountains coming to life!
